Tuition for 2023-24: $135 per month for 45 minute lessons

($130 for 2nd child in family)

School Session is September thru May. This means 9 equal payments during the school year.

This will be for 32 lessons during the 9 months.

There will be a one time $40 materials fee per student ($35 per student when more than one student in a family) for the year (September-September). This will be due with the first payment of the School Session.

Payment is due by the 15th of each month and there is no refund for cancellation of lessons.

Payment made after the 15th of the month will accrue a late fee of $1 per day.

lessons = $135 per month, $130 for 2nd child in family

THEORY CLASSES and EXTRA REHEARSALS DURING SCHOOL SESSION:

these will count as a lesson.

During the summer I require two monthly payments (8 weeks) in order to reserve a lesson time when school resumes. Students taking more than the 8 required lessons will be charged per lesson.

Statements will be sent home only for pre-purchased music or fees associated with a competition or an extra class.

WHAT YOUR TUITION PAYS FOR

You are paying for the teacher's experience. However, lesson fees include much more than this. 33-50% of the money coming in goes out for expenses. My goal is to keep your costs down by absorbing some of the lesson cost myself.

Examples of these costs are: Recital expenses, purchases, repair and maintenance of equipment; professional membership fees and journals; teacher expenses incurred in competitions and festivals (postage, printing, travel); and continuing teacher training, conference registration fees, and related travel expenses.

The teacher's time spent consists of much more than the 30-45 minute lesson. Time is also spent preparing for lessons, evaluating new music, learning new repertoire, and in the research and study of historical performance practices and interpretations. Additional time is spent in professional meetings, keeping records, communicating with students and families, planning and preparing for recitals, festivals, competitions, theory classes, scheduling lessons, etc.

Music lessons are a lifetime investment. Research reports from the business and medical working worlds, increasingly acknowledge the long-term impact of serious piano study on health and business skills. Whether for pleasure or profit, serious students usually keep the piano and music as a lifetime investment. I hope that your child will be added to this list of life-time musicians.
